The 8th Annual Exhibition of the UKCPS is now over. It was held at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA) gallery. Ann’s picture of her dog Archie (Master of Thurstaston) was juried into the exhibition and Ann was delighted to find that it received one of the Highly Commended awards. Apparently many of the visitors to the exhibition had been most impressed by the standard of the work on show and by what could be achieved with coloured pencils.
See the picture on the Gallery Page.
But Archie has not been resting on his laurels! Following his holiday with his people in May (two weeks in a narrowboat, completing a circuit of the Four Counties Ring), Archie has written a small book about his experiences. It is in full colour and has been well-received by readers all over the country. Archie asked that any profits from the sale of the book should go towards the work of the charity, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. Copies of this not-to-be-missed, entertaining read are available from Ann, at £3.99 a copy, plus 50p P&P.
Currently, Ann is Editor of Talking Point, the newsletter of
the UK Coloured Pencil Society (UKCPS). She also helps to produce and print the
newsletter for the North West Calligraphers’ Association (NWCA).
